Water Shocking Demo
Visit The Stude and see a demonstration of water shocking glass.
This demonstration shows how glass can be recycled using a process known as water shocking. Glass pieces are superheated inside a glass kiln, then dropped into a bucket of cold water causing thermal shock. This creates microfractures in the glass and the glass breaks easily into smaller usable chunks. The process is quite fun to watch (fizzing, steam, bubbles etc.) and everyone who attends goes home with a small trinket bowl created with previously water shocked glass.
Closed toed shoes required in The Stude at all times. NO sandals.
