Electroformed Copper Fused Glass Pendant Modern Necklace
I begin the process by layering multiple pieces of dichroic glass and melting it down into one large slab. I then cut the slab down into individual cabochons that I either melt further, cold-work or finish with the electroforming process.
The electroforming process can take anywhere from 12-48 hours, depending on the size and detail of the piece. Each piece is given a turquoise/brown/black patina, then carefully polished in certain areas to bring out the copper below. Finally each piece is sealed with wax or lacquer to preserve and protect the finish.
The pendant measures 2 x 1 inch in size.
This electroformed glass necklace is suspended from a 30" inch copper plated chain finished with lobster clasp.
