Dichroic Glass Stud Earrings - Pink/Orange with green
This listing is for ONE pair of these pink/orange (with a touch of green) stud earrings. I will randomly select one of the pairs when you order. Due to the large number I create and the low price for these pieces I have to group them by colour (I am a one woman show after all). If you MUST choose a specific pair, feel free to visit me at a show or visit a local retailer!
These cute little studs are 10 mm in diameter, my most popular size. They earring post is surgical steel. Each pair comes with silver metal backs as well as a few pairs of plastic comfort backs.
These little guys make the perfect gift for you or a friend, or both!
Dichroic (pronounced “dye-crow-ick”) glass, commonly called dichro for short, literally means “two coloured.” It is derived from the Greek words “di” for two, and “chroma” for colour. It was thus named because of its fantastic multicoloured and reflective properties. When you look at this glass, it appears to have more than one colour at the same time, especially when viewed with different lighting.
This reflective phenomenon is known as thin-film physics, which is also why you see swirling rainbow patterns in a soap bubble, floating colours from oil on water and the dramatic colours of dragonfly wings.
