This listing is for THREE pairs of RANDOM COLOUR Dichroic glass stud earrings. I will randomly select three pairs when you order. Buying three at once saves you a few dollars as well!
I have a mix of 12 mm, 10 mm and 8 mm. Mostly silver backs, some look like just the glass and some have a silver rim around the glass.
All are surgical steel posts, so sensitive ears will be just fine! I have several clients who react to almost all metals but have no issues with my studs.
These little guys make the perfect gift for you or a friend, or both!
Dichroic (pronounced “dye-crow-ick”) glass, commonly called dichro for short, literally means “two coloured.” It is derived from the Greek words “di” for two, and “chroma” for colour. It was thus named because of its fantastic multicoloured and reflective properties. When you look at this glass, it appears to have more than one colour at the same time, especially when viewed with different lighting.
This reflective phenomenon is known as thin-film physics, which is also why you see swirling rainbow patterns in a soap bubble, floating colours from oil on water and the dramatic colours of dragonfly wings.
