Named in honour of the beautiful turquoise waters of Lake Louise, Alberta. For all my international friends who may not have visited Canada, I suggest doing a Google. The glacial water at Lake Louise can appear to glow.
As with all the homes in this series, these were all cut from one large slab of glass. This slab was created using a variation of a screen melt technique. chunks of scrap glass are suspended on several stainless steel rods, then super heated in a kiln and the glass flows through the rods, swirls, and collects on a kiln shelf below. This finished slab is them cut down and cold worked to create the final pieces.
