Copper Guitar Pick Necklace with Dichroic Fused Glass Cabochon
Sold OutSaleThis electroformed glass necklace is suspended from a 20" inch copper plated chain finished with lobster clasp. The copper 'guitar pick' is just a bit bigger than a Canadian Toonie.
NOTE: Not an actual guitar pick, its a piece of copper shaped like a guitar pick.
-------
I begin the process by layering multiple pieces of dichroic glass and melting it down into one large slab. I then cut the slab down into individual cabochons that I either melt further, cold-work or finish with the electroforming process.
The electroforming process can take anywhere from 12-48 hours, depending on the size and detail of the piece. Each piece is given a turquoise/brown/black patina, then carefully polished in certain areas to bring out the copper below. Finally each piece is sealed with wax or lacquer to preserve and protect the finish.
